History
Research-led performance
The Cambridge String Quartet, founded in 2020, unites musicians, academics, and artists with ties to Cambridge to create innovative and immersive concert experiences. Known for reimagining the concert experience, we perform in intimate settings like living rooms, gardens, and historic spaces across the city. From pairing Beethoven’s quartets with curated wines to celebrating George Bridgetower, the virtuoso violinist and Trinity Hall alumnus who was the original dedicatee of Beethoven's "Kreutzer" Sonata, we uncover hidden stories and breathe new life into cherished classics, always putting our listeners at the heart of the performance.
